Pair William Cafe Cast Silver Candlesticks, 1762

The Cafe family were the most important specialist candlestick makers of the mid-18th century and this fine pair exemplify their work.

With their knopped stems and sexafoil-shaped bases, these cast candlesticks would make a superb impression when displayed on a table or sideboard. They retain their original sconce nozzles that allow the easy cleaning of spent wax and are engraved to their base-wells with original crests. They are in excellent condition throughout with neither damage nor repair.
