Cast Pair Large Silver Swans, 1890

These are a superb quality pair of good-sized silver swans made by the important makers Elkington & Company. These swans are cast and consequently have a very hefty weight. They are superbly modelled with particular attention paid to the detail - for example the ruby set eyes and the paddling webbed feet. With their wings held aloft, the interiors could be used as a container to hold an oasis for presenting flowers. They are discreetly engraved to the undersides "From William Bellingham to his dear Son-in-law George H. Grantmann September 1891".

The condition is excellent throughout and what a fabulous pair they make!
