Tea Caddies (pair) - London 1713 by Gundry Roode - 14cm high; 8.5cm x 6cm profile; 350g - TO/4333

Sorry, this item is out of stock.

Queen Anne silver tea caddies in good order are quite a rarity, but what are the chances of finding a matching pair? These are exactly that - a matching pair of caddies by the period's specialist caddy maker - the wonderfully named Gundry Roode.

This pair are in the typical canister form for the period with an octagonal profile. The top section slides off to allow easy re-filling and the domed cup can be used as a caddy spoon for ladling out a measure of tea. Each section of these caddies is appropriately marked with part marks to the slide, cover and underside. The full set of Britannia standard marks are located on the main bodies and although a little worn the date letters can be easily seen and in combination with the the clear "GO" makers marks to the underside give a full accurate dating.

These silver tea caddies are in excellent overall condition with neither damage nor repairs - as one might expect there are just a few very tiny dings to the main sections. Perfect for the presentation of your two favourite teas.
