Pair Hester Bateman Table Spoons, 1776

These Hester Bateman silver table spoons are outstanding examples of her workmanship. Both spoons are superbly decorated along the handles with a bright-cut feather edge design and a lion rampant crest - all still super crisp. The bowls are in fine condition too and retain their original thick tips. To the reverse both spoons are bottom-struck with clear hallmarks and include two first class examples of the sought after "HB" in script maker's mark. A superb pair dating from the year of American independence!
