Sold
Basting Spoons (pair) - Elizabethan Pattern - London 1856 by George Adams - 26.5cm long; 273g - NG/4252
These are a wonderful pair of long handled serving spoons in the highly sought after Elizabethan Pattern. 10" long spoons are scarce and can be considered as stuffing, gravy or basting spoons. These are a very fine pair with very crisp double-struck decoration and a good hefty weight in the hand; they were made by the most important flatware makers of the 19th Century, Chawner & Co. The reverse terminals are engraved with a crest and the hallmarks are clear.
