Dessert Spoons (pair) - Irish Celtic Point with Bright-cut Engraving - Cork circa 1790 by John Warner - 17.6cm long; 56g - GE/5365a

These are a good-looking pair of Irish provincial silver dessert spoons made by John Warner in Cork.

The spoons have an attractive bright-cut engraved design that includes an original family crest to the terminal. The reverse sides are punched "STERLING" and "IW" for the maker. Despite being made in the final years of the 18th century, these spoons have survived well and are in great condition with no bowl wear, dings nor unsightly scratches.
