This is a rare example of an early Georgian period miniature silver teapot made by the specialist toy maker David Clayton.

This George I model is a faithful copy of the type of teapot that was being made circa 1720-30. It has a loop handle and removable cover. It bears a lion passant mark to the body and the "DC" makers mark of David Clayton, the finest specialist maker of toys and miniatures, to the underside. Excellent condition throughout.
