Salt Pots (pair) - Trencher - London 1731 by Edward Wood and London 1735 by Samuel Wood - 2.6cm high; 7.5cm x 6cm; 75g - EK/6302

Sorry, this item is out of stock.

These are a fine pair of George II period silver trencher style salt pots in excellent original condition. They were made a few years apart but emanate from the same workshop - the Wood family specialised in making salt pots and casters. Presumably more salt pots were added in 1735 to an earlier 1731 set. One salt bears an original engraved betrothal triangle to one side - indicating they were given as a wedding present.
