Marrow Scoop - Reversible Double Ended - London 1726 by David Willaume I - 18cm long; 48g - KA/8952
This is a fabulous silver marrow scoop made by one of the most important English silversmiths - the Huguenot David Willaume I. The marrow scoop has the two usual sized scoops with the unusual feature of the narrower scoop facing down, so that the two scoops face in opposing directions. The reverse side of the wider scoop is engraved with a coat-of-arms depicting a crescent above five lozenges. This George I period spoon has a good solid weight for its shorter than typical size and is in fine condition with an excellent set of deeply struck hallmarks.
