Rare Strawberry Tongs, 1897

These are a very beautiful pair of silver tongs which unusually has a mother of pearl handle. They are marked with a registration design number (Rd263022) which identifies them as a "fancy design for strawberry eating". They have fingered grips that allow the core and leaf to be taken out of strawberries without soiling one's hands. This dainty pair of tongs remain in excellent condition.  

Provenance: These rare tongs were previously part of the Bramah Collection sold at Lawrences of Crewkerne as lot 1105 on October 11th, 2011.
