Hester Bateman cast arm Sugar Tongs

These elaborately designed cast arm sugar tongs were made by Hester Bateman and bear a clear example of the "HB" maker's mark. The other arm is stamped across the bow/arm solder line with the lion passant and incuse head duty mark (thereby accurately dating the piece). The bow is engraved with an engraved crest and the grips are in the form of acorns. The tongs are in great condition with neither damage nor repair.
