This is a large silver, pitcher-style jug that although generally known as a beer jug, would be perfectly useful for water, Pimms etc.

With its elegant baluster form and sparrow-beak pouring spout, this jug is a faithful copy of the type found during the mid-18th century and has been well made by the premier silversmithing firm of Barnards with a nice solid feeling of quality in the hand. It even has a heart-shaped lower terminus to the handle that was often seen on period pieces. It has a good capacity of 1.2 litre (1.75 pints) and is in fine condition.
