Asparagus Tongs - King's pattern - London 1846 by Henry Holland - 27.5cm long; 5.5cm wide; 240g - SG/7078i
These are a fabulous pair of early Victorian silver serving tongs. The King's Pattern decoration is super crisp to both arms with the added bonus of no personalised engravings nor erasures. The blades are finely pierced and one blade has a raised lip to the end to prevent slippage whilst serving. These tongs have a restraining bar to the centre to prevent over stretching. The condition is superb and with a weight of over 7 troy ounces, the quality is top class too.
Originally intended for use with asparagus, these Henry Holland tongs in practice could be used for a variety of serving purposes.
