Caddy Spoon - Jockey Cap - Birmingham circa 1800 by Samuel Pemberton - 5.1cm long; 6.7g - DK/5029

Jockey cap silver caddy spoons date from after 1797 and are one of the triumvirate of must-have caddy spoons.

This is a smart example from this early period (1797-1805) with a chased floral band around the cap and a raised edge to the visor. Its lightweight precluded the need for a full set of Birmingham hallmarks but the "SP" makers mark for Samuel Pemberton is clearly stamped to the underside.

This George III period caddy spoon is very competitively priced and is in excellent condition.
