Irish Tazza, Dublin 1717

Tazza - Footed Salver - Dublin 1717 by Edward Workman - 15cm diameter; 4cm high; 200g - HE/1944
A very fine piece of early 18th century Irish silver; this footed salver is of the highest quality and celebrates it tricentennial in 2017! This tazza has a nice hefty weight and is in fine condition with a good colour. The centre of the top is expertly engraved with a coat-of-arms surmounted by a horse-head crest, whilst the underside of the base is discreetly, later engraved "H.R.M". The very crisp Dublin hallmarks for an important maker are located to the underside of the plate. An excellent piece of early Irish silver.
