Sugar Tongs - Irish Fiddle - Cork? circa 1820 by TH - 15.8cm long; 91g - JD/5029</p>

Sorry, this item is out of stock.

These are an exceptional pair of Irish provincial silver sugar tongs probably made in Cork during the early 19th century. They have a super heavy weight of 3 tr.oz. and feel fabulous in the hand. They have round grips with shell decoration and the tongs are marked to both arms with a "TH" maker's mark. The form is typically Irish for the 1810 to 1830 period, but we have been unable to trace the maker. The condition is fabulous throughout with no engravings.
