Basting Spoon - King's Hourglass pattern - London 1813 by Paul Storr - 32.5cm long; 200g - CS/5598

This is an outstanding Regency period silver basting spoon by the great Paul Storr in the popular King's Hourglass Pattern.

This is a super-heavy 12.75" long serving spoon with wonderfully crisp double-struck decoration and a clear set of London hallmarks for the most important English silversmith of the 19th century. The hourglass motifs are well defined to both front and back and the bowl has a satisfyingly thick tip. The front terminal is engraved with an original swan crest and this superb spoon is in fine condition with a lovely antique patina.
