A lovely pair of Hester Bateman sugar tongs with round bowls to the end of each arm. The bright-cut engraving is in the usual tasteful design one would expect from the "Queen of English Silversmiths". These tongs are in excellent condition and the two marks suggest a date of manufacture prior to the introduction of the duty mark in 1784.
