A fine example of a beautiful Hester Bateman pair of silver sugar tongs. These Georgian sugar tongs have superb crisp bright-cut engraved decoration along both arms, terminating in round bowls. The outside of the bow bears "MC" engraved initials and the two clear hallmarks indicate a date prior to 1784.
