This is a very elegant silver basting spoon made Hester Bateman, "The Queen of English Silversmiths".
This 12" long spoon would have been used for a variety of serving and basting purposes and is variously known as a basting, gravy or stuffing spoon. It is in the Old English pattern and benefits from being free of any personalised engravings.It has a great set of hallmarks including the cherished "HB" maker's mark in script. This excellent spoon remains in fine condition.
