Hester Bateman Cream Jug

Sold
Cream Jug - Baluster with Bead Rim - London 1786 by Hester Bateman - 12.7cm high (to top of handle); 10.7cm long (handle to spout); 5.4cm diameter base; 81g - GS/5451</p>
This is a great example of a cream jug by the famous lady silversmith, Hester Bateman. It stands on a pedestal foot and has an elegant baluster form with bead punched rim. It is one on the staple pitcher designs for the Bateman workshop of the 1780's and unlike the majority - this one is in fine condition with neither damage nor repairs. Two further benefits are the clear set of hallmarks and the lack of any personalised engravings (nor any erasures). A fine example of its type!
