Basting Spoon - Old English pattern - London 1780 by Hester Bateman - 29.8cm long; 105g - EJ/7806
A very elegant long handled, silver serving or basting spoon with excellent bottom-struck hallmarks for the Queen of English Silversmiths. This 11.5" Georgian spoon is in fantastic condition with a good, thick bowl tip, strong heel to the reverse of the bowl and an excellent patina. It benefits from bearing no personalised engravings and for such a fine spoon is very competitively priced.
In addition to "basting" spoon, this form of long handled server is also known as a stuffing spoon or gravy spoon.
