Cast Sherry Label, 1829 John Bridge

Sold
Wine Label - Sherry: Gilt; cast - London 1829 by John Bridge - 8cm x 7.5cm; 66g - NK/5658
This is a fantastic quality silver-gilt sherry label in superb condition. The quality is outstanding as one would expect from John Bridge - a partner in the Royal Goldsmith retailers Rundell, Bridge & Rundell. His maker's mark proudly boasts a crown surmount denoting his "by appointment" status to King George IV. The label is cast and displays a festoon of vine and grape drapery and a central crescent with "Sherry" chased in to it and raised to the front. It hangs from a very heavy belcher chain and has a phenomenal weight for a wine label!. A stunning piece.
