Sugar Crusher - Sheffield 1817 by John & Thomas Settle - 12.5cm long; 19g - JJ/2497

Sorry, this item is out of stock.

Silver sugar crushers are very rare implements that were used to break up sugar from a sugar loaf so that it could be sprinkled over desserts and drinks.

They rarely appear on the market and this one has the bonus of the original owners script engraved "EA" initials on the underside of the crushing plate. It has a finger ring to the top and the Sheffield hallmarks for John and Thomas Settle are located on the shaft. Fine condition.
