Serving Slice - Old English Pattern with hinged blades - London 1805 by Wm. Eley & Wm. Fearn - 300mm long; 227g weight - Ref. No.: HP/8608
This is a superb Georgian serving slice. It has been beautifully made by the most important silver flatware makers of the period and remains in outstanding condition. The two blades are hinged and can be easily opened with a press by the thumb. the hinge is sprung so that they return to the closed position when not in use. The blades are pierced to allow liquids to drain and would have been primarily used for serving fish, but would be equally good for cold meats, barbecue meats, steak etc.
