This is one of the best sugar boxes we have encountered. The quality is fantastic with superb rococo inspired assymetric flowers and scrolls. The chased decoration is of the highest quality and remains in crisp condition throughout. This large sugar box has a really hefty weight and has no personalised engravings (nor any erasures). It is in superb condition throughout with clear hallmarks for a premier maker to the underside.
The sugar box (with cover) was the pre-courser of the sugar bowl as part of standard tea equipage in the 18th century.
