Coffee Pot - Chased Baluster shape - London 1765 by Francis Crump - 27.5cm high; 1.1 litre (2 pints); 915g - Ref. No.: TD/7773
This fantastic Georgian silver coffee pot has a lovely baluster shape with original chased decoration. It just looks and feels fantastic and is as good an authentic chased coffee pot as you are likely to find. The repoussé work is in the rococo style and the fact that part of the lion passant mark is stamped over the decoration proves the authenticity of the chasing (many pots have the decoration added at a much later date).
This top-of-the-range quality coffee pot has a good hefty weight with a superb cast spout, wrythen finial to the hinged cover and a gadroon rim to both foot and cover. It is in superb condition retaining its original pearwood handle, plus there is a small, discreet engraved crest featuring an antelope close to the hallmarks.
