Wine Label - Frontiniac; Bright-cut Scroll with Surmount - London circa 1780 by James Phipps - 5.5cm wide - HL/4170

Sorry, this item is out of stock.

This is a very beautiful wine label with the rare name "FRONTINIAC" engraved to the front. The label is in the crescent form with the surmount bearing an original engraved crest of a griffin's head to the cartouche and beautiful bright-cut engraved decoration. The label is struck twice with the "IP" maker's mark of the specialist bottle ticket maker and is in excellent condition.

Frontiniac is the anglicised version of Frontignac; a sweet muscadine wine from the Languedoc region of France.
