Sorry, this item is out of stock.

Made by one of the top Hugeunot names in silversmithing, this good quality circular snuff box has a gilt interior and comes with a first class provenance. The slightly domed hinged cover is engraved with a crest and coat-of-arms of the Hippisley family within a fancy, scrolling cartouche and flanked by a male and female herm with a scallop below. Dating from the early George II period, this good-sized snuff box has a nice feel in the hand and remains in excellent condition with crisp decoration.

Provenance Albert Collection no. 490 and Lion Collection no. 148.
