Cast Floral Panel Vinaigrette, 1826 Nat Mills

This is a very early example from the workshop of the famous Nathaniel Mills. The first "NM" mark was entered in the same year that this box was made. The cover is fitted with a cast panel in a similar manner to the later castle tops. The panel depicts a floral display. The underside is engine turned and the interior gilt (gold-wash), The hinged grille has a pretty wheel motif to the centre flanked by floral scrolls.
