Elizabeth II Coronation Silver Teastrainer, R E Stone
£185.00
Tea Strainer - English Rose - London 1953 by R E Stone - 15.2cm long; 64g - LE/7458
This a beautiful silver tea strainer made by one of the most important early post-war silversmiths, Robert Edgar Stone, to celebrate the coronation of the late Queen.
The raised decoration to the handle featuring an English rose on its stem is replicated in engraved form on the balancing lip and once again as the shape and design of the strainer section itself. The London hallmarks inside the strainer include the RES maker's mark and a central portrait of Queen Elizabeth II that was used by the assay office to celebrate her coronation in 1953.
This lovely tea strainer remains in superb, crisp condition.
