Sugar Shovel - Fiddle Pattern - Elgin circa 1825 by Joseph Pozzi - 15.7cm long; 19.8g - DH/7633
This is a rare Elgin made silver sugar shovel with a fiddle pattern handle and nice feel in the hand. With its oblong-shaped bowl, this spoon was made to serve sugar and is engraved with the "H" initial of the original owner. It carries three marks to the reverse: "JP" (for the maker Joseph Pozzi), "ELN" and a thistle. This lovely Scottish provincial sugar shovel is in fine condition.
