Pin Cushion - Donkey - Birmingham 1910 by Levi & Salaman - 82mm long; 54mm high - Ref. No.: LM/2932

This is a large example of a very desirable pin cushion in the form of a donkey. This donkey is beautifully modelled and was made by one of the leading toy makers of the Edwardian period. The look on its face suggests that it has had a tiring day and it needs a bit of tlc with its right ear slightly pushed-in (see close-up photo). A charming touch is the way it stands - on 3 legs with the fourth resting on the tip of its hoof. A lovely pin cushion with clear hallmarks.
