Dental Mirror by Lady Maker

Dental Mirror - Folding - London 1834 by Mary Ann Hide - 10.7cm (with handle open); 18g - CL/1856</p>
This rare late Georgian period (William IV) reign piece was made by the scarcely encountered lady silversmith, Mary Ann Hide. From the extant pieces, it would seem that Mary Ann Hide specialised in ophthalmic related ware. This dental mirror has a folding silver frame and is clearly marked to the handle and backing to the glass mirror. It bears the "MH" incuse mark in both locations. This piece of medical silver is in fine condition.
