Cow Creamer, 1973

Sold
Cream Jug - Cow - London 1973 by Israel Freeman & Sons (import marks) - 14.5cm long; 197g - JA/5342
One of the finest modelling for a novelty cow creamer that we have come across, this example has a textured body with excellent features to the face. In line with the 18th century John Schuppe originals, this creamer has a hinged cover with fly motif. The cream pours through the open mouth of the standing cow and the looped handle (which bears the import hallmarks) acts as handle. It has a good, hefty weight and is in superb condition. A very fine piece.
