This is a very rare piece of Irish silver! Cork-made silver is scarce, but Cork-made caddy spoons are extremely rare with very few extant pieces and this is a great example.
This spoon is of typical Irish form with the Celtic Point shape to the handle together with attractive bright-cut engraved decoration and original "BG" script monogram. The Irish provincial marks are fabulous with a clear "STERLING" mark and two "JN" script marks for John Nicholson. The spoon is in excellent condition.
