Chester-made antique silver wine labels are rare and this Georgian MADEIRA label is a great example.
It was made by George Lowe, the top Chester silversmith of the late Georgian period, in 1805 and benefits from bearing a full set of Chester hallmarks including the town mark. It is a reeded rectangular form and hangs from its original chain. The condition is excellent and the hallmarks are clear.
