Cast GA Caddy Spoon, 1852

Sold
Caddy Spoon - Cast - London 1852 by George Adams - 8.8cm long; 23g - SU/6658</p>
This is a very fine example of a typically good quality caddy spoon from the Chawner & Company workshop. This cast silver spoon has a bowl of over-lapping leaves and a vacant cartouche to the handle. It has a good, hefty weight and is in excellent condition with clear London hallmarks for George Adams (owner of Chawner & Co.). One of the most attractive features of this spoon is the gilding that is restricted to the central leaf.
See Norie "Caddy Spoons: An Illustrated Guide" plate 26e for an identical example.
