Coronation Spoons (pair, cased) - Enamelled Terminals - London 1936 by R E Stone - 15.4cm & 15.1cm long; 59g combined weight (Case = 18.3cm x 8.5cm) - BV/6965

RE Stone was one of the premier Art Deco silversmiths and major supplier to the top London retail outlets for hand-made silver souvenirs celebrating royal events during the 1930's. This is a scarce pair of spoons celebrating the coronation of King George VI in 1937.

The spoons are still housed in their original presentation case and have enamelled detail to the handles. One spoon is enamelled in blue with "G VI" for the king and the other in red with "E" for his wife, Queen Elizabeth. The case is imprinted with the Regent Street retailers The Goldsmiths & Silversmiths Company Limited.

The spoons remain in fine condition with good enamel and just some very minor wear to the outside of the case. They have clear London hallmarks for the year cycle 1936/37 and include the RES mark for the maker.
