Caddy Spoon - Floral Embossed - Birmingham 1816 by Joseph Willmore - 7.8cm long; 13g - PF/3667 - Norie reference 37b

Sorry, this item is out of stock.

This fine looking, die-samped silver caddy spoon is attractively embossed to the fluted bowl with floral decoration and is further embossed with a tendril to the handle terminating in a shell motif. It was made by Joseph Willmore, one of the most prolific and innovative of the Birmingham "toy makers" and is in fine condition. This tea caddy spoon has a first class pedigree having once been part of the Norie Collection.

The spoon was originally bought at the Norie Collection sale in July 2004 (as part of lot 356) and is depicted in "Caddy Spoons: An Illustrated Guide" by John Norie as figure 37b. This spoon is one of a number we originally purchased at the Norie Sale in 2004 and have recently bought back. Should you be interested, the Norie plates are: 1a, 43a 52b, 62e, 82b and all are offered for sale
