Tea Urn - Vase-shaped; Bright-cut - London 1786 by Thomas Daniell - 38.6cm high, 13cm max. diameter, 1190grams - OF/9453

Sorry, this item is out of stock.

This very beautiful silver tea urn is the perfect size for standing on a sideboard or buffet table - not too big and not too small. It has a wonderfully elegant shape which is enhanced by the bright-cut engraved design including swags and oval cartouches. The cartouche to the front is expertly engraved with a crest and motto (the motto reads "Vincere Vel Mort") and the obverse remains vacant. The original stained green ivory tap remains in place and is in fine working condition.

The whole stands on a square pedestal foot with four ball feet to lift it from a wooden surface to prevent scorching, it is here that the full set of hallmarks are located. There are two side handles and the removable cover is topped by a pineapple finial.

Tea urns are relatively scarce and this is a particularly fine example, with the added benefit of being in superb, crisp condition throughout.
