Bright-cut engraved Exeter Table Spoon, 1792

Table Spoon - Bright-cut engraved - Exeter 1792 by Richard Ferris - 21cm long; 56g - GF/1700b
This is a very attractive late 18th century Exeter hallmarked silver table spoon.
The front stem is beautifully engraved with bright-cut engraving with the bonus of no personalised engravings to the cartouche. The reverse of the stem is stamped with a good set of Exeter hallmarks for the highly regarded silversmith Richard Ferris. The spoon is a fabulous example of the type with a nice feeling in the hand, super-crisp engraving and a lovely thick bowl tip.
