Mote Spoon - Basket of flowers - London circa 1760 by Joseph Bell II - 138mm long - LP/3622

Sorry, this item is out of stock.

This is a truly superb silver mote spoon with crisp fancy back to the reverse of the bowl depicting a basket of flowers. The bowl of this Georgian mote skimmer is pierced with crosslets and scrolls and the stem has a diamond point finial for cleaning the teapot spout. The stem is marked with the maker's mark only, which most unusually is the full name of the maker "I BELL" (n.b. at this time "J"'s were written as "I"). This wonderful mote spoon is in excellent original condition.
