Caddy Spoon - Stylised Flower Handle & Shovel-shaped Bowl - London 1921 by Arthur William Morgan - 8cm long; 12.2g - HG/7577</p>
Arthur William Morgan entered his mark at Goldsmiths Hall in 1905 and had his workshop in nearby Clerkenwell. His silver is rarely encountered and if this caddy spoon sets a benchmark then he made some beautiful pieces. The spoon is made in the Arts & Crafts tradition however there are traces in the design of the Art Deco movement that first became fashionable in the 1920's. The spoon is in excellent condition.
Provenance: This spoon is illustrated as figure e) on page 26 of "The Caddy Spoon in the 20th Century" produced by the Society of caddy Spoon Collectors.
