This is a very beautiful and rare example of a Victorian rattle. It has a tiger's eye stone handle that is fitted with a silver-gilt ball with rattle interior. The ball is superbly engraved in the Aesthetic style with a soft yellow gilt background. It is in superb crisp condition throughout.
Tiger's eye is said to be a stone of protection that enhances integrity, and brings good luck and prosperity.
