6 Leslie Durbin Silver Teaspoons, London 1955
Sold
Teaspoons (6) - Hand-wrought - London 1955 by Leslie Durbin - 12.5cm long; 126g combined weight - EB/9781d
At just £40 per piece, these are a very competitively priced set of lovely silver teaspoons made by the former apprentice to Omar Ramsden. Leslie Gordon Durbin (LGD) went on to become one of the most important British silversmiths of the early post-war period and during a time of austerity when little silver was produced.
These hand-made teaspoons have a beautiful, streamlined tapering stem with a simple engraved design to the terminal. The reverse of the bowl has an organic rattail that is very similar to the type produced by LGD's master, Omar Ramsden. They are in excellent polished condition.
