6 Bright-cut Teaspoons by Batemans, 1794
Teaspoons (6) - Bright-cut engraved - London 1794 by Peter & Ann Bateman - 13.2cm long; 89g combined weight - GE/1958
These are a beautiful set of Georgian silver teaspoons decorated to the front stems with bright-cut engraving incorporating original "C" ownership initials.
The set of six spoons was made towards the close of the 18th century by the partnership of Peter and Ann Bateman; the former being the son of the famous Hester, and the latter her daughter-in-law (widow of Jonathan). The spoons are in excellent condition with crisp decoration and good, unworn bowls.
