1971 Silver Caddy Spoon by Keith Tyssen
Sold
Caddy Spoon - Broad-bowled - London 1971 by Keith Tyssen - 8.3cm long; 29g - PL/5814
This is a fine quality silver caddy spoon made by the Sheffield-based silversmith Keith Tyssen.
The spoon features a plain front with broad bowl whilst the reverse shows the telltale evidence of being a hand-made spoon in the form of planishing hammer marks. The spoon has a nice chunky feel in the hand and is in excellent condition.
Despite running a workshop since the 1960's, Keith Tyssen's silver work rarely appears on the market as most pieces were made to commission and he spent much of his time making pewterware. This is a good opportunity to buy a fabulous example of his work.
