Sorry, this item is out of stock.

This is a fabulous and very rare Scottish provincial silver trefid spoon made in Glasgow by Robert Brock. This good quality spoon has a good hefty feel in the hand, has a great set of hallmarks and is in fine condition.

The spoon has typical trefid features with a bulbous terminal that is engraved to the back with original betrothal initials and to the front with later initials. The reverse of the bowl has a strong rattail with reeded enhancements. The back of the stem is struck four times, thrice with the conjoined "RB" mark for Robert Brock (one weakly struck) and once with the city arms mark of Glasgow.

Finding 17th century Scottish provincial silver is a tricky feat and this spoon dating from the 1690's is a fabulous example.
