The Service
This is an excellent 129 piece straight canteen of silver in a sought after 20th Century Pattern. This extensive Louis XVI (Seize) service provides for ten pieces per 12 place settings.
Every piece is hallmarked for Sheffield 1970 with the sponsor’s mark of the Manchester silver retailer, Ollivant & Botsford. The set would have been made by Roberts & Belk on commission from the retailer. The service benefits from having no personalised engravings to any of the pieces and is in lovely polished condition.
Louis XVI Pattern
Louis XVI Pattern draws its inspiration from French flatware designs and was named in honour of the late 18th century French King Louis XVI. The pattern was made in Sheffield by Roberts & Belk during the mid-late 20th Century. It has straight sides with a reed & ribbon border and a shell motif to the end of each handle.

Condition
The silver is in near immaculate, polished condition throughout.
Presentation
This canteen is supplied in a 3 drawer wooden box with the benefit of each piece having an individual slot within the fitted interior to prevent scuffing. The box is in generally good condition, although there are some scuffs to the exterior.
